About The Lecturer
Honorable Carolyn Gold was elected to the San Francisco Superior Court in March 2020 and began her term in January 2021. She is currently assigned to the Unified Family Court where she presides over Domestic Violence Restraining Orders and Family Law Discovery. Judge Gold is a member of the California Judges Association. Prior to her move to the Unified Family Court, Judge Gold presided over criminal domestic violence cases and heard felony preliminary hearings. Before running for judicial office, Judge Gold was the Director of Litigation and Policy for the Right to Counsel program, providing tenants with attorneys in unlawful detainer matters. Judge Gold earned her B.A. with honors from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from UC San Francisco Law (formerly Hastings College of the Law).
