About The Lecturer

Malvina is the Attorney of the Day (AOD) Program Supervising Attorney at the Justice and Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco. Malvina recruits and trains immigration attorneys interested in becoming AOD volunteers and also provides orientations and CLE trainings to current and new AOD volunteers. Malvina has also helped plan, organize and conduct several I-589 clinics in partnership with other entities such as PG&E and Salesforce. She also manages and supervises legal staff, volunteers, and interns assisting the AOD Program with in-court and remote consultations, the AOD hotline, intakes and referrals, applications and pro se motions, and oversees data collection for grant reports. Malvina also participates as an AOD in court, having met with over one thousand pro se individuals in removal proceedings to provide consultations and help with requests before the immigration judge. Prior to JDC, Malvina worked as an immigration attorney at the Immigration Center for Women and Children, focusing on U Visa and Adjustment of Status cases, and later at a private law firm, where she worked on both removal defense cases before EOIR as well as affirmative cases before USCIS. Malvina earned her law degree from the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law and is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar.
