About The Lecturer
Honorable Mujdah Rahim was hired by the San Francisco Superior Court and sworn in as a Court Commissioner on January 5, 2026. Commissioner Rahim is currently assigned to Department 414 as an AB-1058 Child Support Commissioner.
Commissioner Rahim served as a Child Support Attorney for the Alameda County Department of Child Support Service since 2021 and has 15 years of legal expertise in the areas of family law, child support, domestic abuse and sexual assault, and complex financial litigation related to dissolution matters.
Commissioner Rahim is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor’s in international relations, she earned her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in 2010. The following year, she joined the Family Violence Law Center in Oakland where she represented survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
In 2014, she served as Of Counsel with All for the Family Legal Clinic, Inc. in Castro Valley before opening her own law office specializing in complex family law matters, including child custody, spousal support, and property division.
Commissioner Rahim begins her judicial career after serving as a Child Support Attorney III in the Alameda County Department of Child Support Service, where she was responsible for a full range of complex and difficult litigation and other legal work in connection with the Child Support Program, including specialized handling of Uniform Interstate Family Support Act cases.
Her public service and volunteer experience includes legal work in the Solano County Public Defender’s Office. She also served as an advisory committee member to the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors; and advocated for equal access to education within the Mount Diablo Unified School District.
Until recently, she served as Co-president of the Alameda County Family Law Association since January 2023; and Member of the California Child Support Directors Association, where she monitored proposed legislation impacting California families.
She previously served as a board member of the Family and Children’s Trust and as a member of the ACBA Judicial Appointment Evaluation Committee; Alameda County Bar Association, Family Law Section; and the Robert G. McGrath American Inn of Court.
