About The Lecturer

Honorable Anne Costin was appointed to the San Francisco Superior Court in 2023 by Governor Gavin Newsom. She is currently assigned to the Unified Family Court where she presides overlaw and motion calendars, family law trials, and domestic violence restraining order hearings. She was previously assigned to misdemeanor trials and preliminary hearings. Before joining the Court, Judge Costin practiced civil litigation. She primarily represented plaintiff employees indiscrimination and retaliation matters and tried many employment cases to verdict throughout California. Judge Costin was a Sole Practitioner from 2013-2023, and before that worked as an Associate at the Dolan Law Firm from 2008 to 2013. She received her JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2008 and later taught at USF as an Adjunct Professor from 2011 to 2017. For over a decade Judge Costin led a volunteer Mock Trial program for high school students through the YMCA. Judge Costin is a 4th generation San Franciscan, and lives in the City with her husband and their daughter.
